“What a thrill it was to deliver the “My Color Boxes” to U of M Mott Children’s Hospital today! Knowing that they will be available to the children while visiting the Hematology/Oncology Clinic blesses my heart.
Mott is an awesome hospital but waiting for the next appointment, next treatment or next test/result can brew up much anxiety…so, what’s better than a little distraction?
Drawing, coloring, tic-tax-toe time for kids …Yay!!!“
Ingrid Hourigan (Jesse’s Mom)- 2014
These are the perfect art box to-go! Each one has either crayons or colored pencils and drawing paper inside. The colorful cover is a collage of Jesse & his sister Savannah’s school art.
Twice a year, students withing the Linden Community Schools help assemble these color boxes for delivery to local hospitals. They are then distributed to children battling a terminal illness.
It is through the generous donations of our Linden TRIBE members that we are able to make this happen. We are always accepting DVD boxes (the ones with clips to hold paper), printed duct tape, crayons, markers, colored pencils and gel pens and reams of paper.
