Thank you to our volunteers and sponsors who have helped with this event. This is just one of the many things we do as a non-profit to bring hope and shower others with love and kindness.

This program is dear to the heart of our LPIF Board and also many community members. Twice a year we sponsor an afternoon of crafting, snacks and fellowship with these ladies. Our volunteers often share that the time spent with these ladies leaves a life-changing imprint of compassion in the core of their heart.
If you feel compelled to donate toward this event, it is always appreciated. The ladies will be making beaded bracelets. The theme is: LOVE NEVER FAILS.

CARING CARDS FOR THE TROOPS

Prepping for our Caring Cards Event for OUR TROOPS at the elementary schools in Linden. I believe we have 5-6 classrooms participating this year.
Thanks to everyone for your donations of supplies to make this a success.
Louise Downs Blain of Desert Angels Organization will include the cards in the packages mailed to our deployed military service men/women. We will also be including an envelope/paper for the soldier to send back at message to the classroom.
To the teachers participating with your classroom…I will be sending you an email in the next week to get times/days scheduled.
There are some middle school honor students who would like to volunteer for service hours. Not sure who to contact about that since this event happens during school hours.
More news to follow. This is an event the kids love and an awesome way to share the sacrifices our troops make to protect and defend our freedoms.

COMMUNITY SOUP FOR THE SOUL

A group of local non-profit organizations meet once a month at Shirley’s Cafe. We talk about the needs of our community, food banks and how we can work together to bring about change. A few months ago we voted to do a community Soup for the Soul night at the Masonic Lodge in downtown Linden. The first event was a great success and we even ran out of soup. We served four different soups, bread, desserts, ice tea, lemonade and coffee.
The next Soup for the Soul event is February 23, Thursday from 3:30-6:30pm. If you would like to volunteer to make soup, drop off dessert or volunteer to serve / clean-up…we welcome the help.
All our welcome to stop in for soup and enjoy community entertainment from some of local students.
